Chinese Engineer Gets 5 Years For Swiping Defense Secrets

Law360, New York (March 26, 2013, 1:14 PM EDT) -- A former engineer with a New Jersey-based defense contractor was sentenced Monday to more than five years in prison for illegally exporting U.S. military technology to China and stealing his employers' trade secrets.

Sixing “Steve” Liu, 49, received a sentence of 70 months in prison following his September conviction of violating export control and trade secret protection laws, prosecutors said Monday.
