Carnival Asks 11th Circ. To Keep Shipwreck Suit Out Of US

Law360, New York (March 27, 2013, 5:44 PM EDT) -- Carnival Corp. on Tuesday urged the Eleventh Circuit to uphold a lower court decision that tossed a proposed class action seeking $75 million in economic damages for the deadly Costa Concordia wreck, saying the suit belonged in Italy.

The company says U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenbaum got it right when she dismissed the suit filed by Italian business owners, ruling in September that public and private factors favored Italian courts.
