Ex-Freddie Execs Can't Dodge SEC's Subprime Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (March 29, 2013, 10:56 PM EDT) -- The former Freddie Mac CEO and other erstwhile executives lost a bid Thursday to shake off a fraud suit by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission when a New York federal judge found the regulator had sufficiently claimed they downplayed the mortgage giant's subprime risk.

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan largely denied a motion to dismiss by former chief Richard Syron, its former executive vice president and chief business officer, Patricia Cook, and Donald J. Bisenius, Freddie Mac's onetime executive vice president for single-family guarantee business....
