Co. Indicted For Pay-To-Play Hiding Behind Ch. 11: NJ AG

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 7:32 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey attorney general Monday asked a federal court to throw out the bankruptcy petition of indicted engineering firm Birdsall Services Group, calling the move a “misguided effort” to prevent the state from seizing the company's assets in connection with a pay-to-play scandal.

Birdsall filed for Chapter 11 protection Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of New Jersey, according to court documents, in the wake of an indictment charging the company and top executives with disguising nearly $500,000 in political contributions.
