Newark Housing Authority Files Fraud Suit Against Solar Co.

Law360, New York (April 2, 2013, 6:22 PM EDT) -- The Newark Housing Authority has sued Energy C2 LLC for allegedly breaching a solar power purchase agreement under which the New Jersey public entity was once scheduled to procure as much as $147 million worth of energy during a 25-year period.

Accusing the Bristol, Pa.-based company of fraud, the NHA claims that EC2 falsely represented that it had the financial ability to perform the project — which was supposed to reduce the authority's energy costs through the installation of solar panels on the rooftops of various NHA...
