Court Revives Shareholder Suit Against Jenkens

Law360, New York (December 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A state appeals court has given new life to a lawsuit against Jenkens & Gilchrist, which alleges that the battered law firm did not tell its client’s shareholders that it had invited a man convicted of securities crimes to take part in a development deal.

The lower state court was wrong to grant Jenkens & Gilchrist’s motion to dismiss the suit back in 2006, the New York State Supreme Court, appellate division, ruled on Tuesday, unanimously deciding to reverse the decision and reinstate the complaint....
