Fla. Appeals Court Affirms Fee Award In Tampa Pension Row

Law360, Miami (April 3, 2013, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A Florida appeals court on Wednesday affirmed a lower court's award of attorneys' fees to the lead plaintiff in a class suit against the city of Tampa over the city pension fund board's decision to not issue a supplemental benefit.

In an opinion replacing one issued in December, Florida's Second District Court of Appeal affirmed the amount of attorneys' fees but disagreed with the trial court's justification for the award and certified a “question of great public importance” regarding whether the prevailing party attorneys' fees provisions...
