Apple, Nokia Resolve Smartphone Sensor Patent Claims

Law360, San Diego (April 3, 2013, 9:46 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc., Nokia Inc. and other smartphone makers have reached a settlement with a patent holding company a week after a Texas federal judge refused to dismiss the case, which accuses them of infringing patents covering cellphones with image sensors, according to court filings this week.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark granted Imperium IP Holdings (Cayman) Ltd. and Apple’s joint bid to dismiss their claims against each other with prejudice, according to a Wednesday filing. The companies agreed to cover their own attorneys’ fees and costs....
