Lloyd's Must Cover Malpractice Suit Over $7M Loss, Firm Says

Law360, New York (April 4, 2013, 7:27 PM EDT) -- A Los Angeles law firm urged a California federal court Thursday to rule that Lloyd's of London underwriters should defend it against malpractice claims tied to a $7 million award against an alleged ex-client in a property dispute.

Blum Collins LLP and attorney Craig Collins filed a motion for summary judgment on their claim that Lloyd's breached the duty to defend when it refused to cover a suit brought by Collins' former client, Cynthia Beck.
