VW Can't Ditch $6.2M Window-Defect Award In Mo. High Court

Law360, New York (April 9, 2013, 7:28 PM EDT) -- The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a trial court’s award of $6.2 million in fees to the attorneys who successfully represented a class of consumers who sued Volkswagen Group of America Inc. over defective windows.

The Supreme Court, in a split en banc ruling, found the lower court had properly calculated the award for class counsel Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP and declined to disturb it, rejecting Volkswagen's challenge to the lodestar amount and the multiplier the trial court applied.
