Fla. Gov. Signs Bill Banning Gray-Market Slot Machines

Law360, Miami (April 10, 2013, 7:57 PM EDT) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday signed into law a bill that updates state law to provide a clear ban on so-called gray-area slot machines that have proliferated in places like Internet cafes, adult arcades and convenience stores.

Scott signed H.B. 155, the Electronic Gambling Prohibition & Community Protection Act, less than a week after the Florida Senate voted 36-4 in favor of the legislation, despite concerns from some members that the measure casts too wide a net and will ensnare legitimate businesses.
