Toyota, Others Seek Sanctions In 'Baseless' NPE Suit

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 9:15 PM EDT) -- Toyota Motor Corp. and other automakers asked a Texas federal court recently to throw out a patent suit by nonpracticing entity Rydex Ltd. and award attorneys' fees as punishment for filing what the defendants call a "frivolous" and "baseless" suit.

Rydex holds a patent covering a commercial fuel exchange between a gas station fuel pump and a vehicle, and it alleges that anti-theft systems contained within the automakers' vehicle infringe it.
