Fake Doctor Gets 12 Years For Medicare Fraud, Records Theft

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 2:06 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge Wednesday handed down a 12-year prison sentence to a woman who posed as a doctor to steal records of 1,000 patients and defraud Medicare in a multimillion-dollar scheme that funded purchases of a mansion and luxury cars, prosecutors said.
