Liberty Global's $23B Virgin Media Buy OK'd In Europe

Law360, New York (April 15, 2013, 2:10 PM EDT) -- European antitrust regulators have cleared Colorado-based Liberty Global Inc.'s proposed €17.2 billion ($22.5 billion) acquisition of U.K. cable provider Virgin Media Inc., saying Monday the deal did not threaten competition.

The European Commission granted clearance to the transaction, which would bring together Virgin Media, the second-largest pay television operator in the U.K., with Liberty Global, Europe's largest cable operator.
