King & Spalding Guides Landmark Saudi Thermal Energy Deal

Law360, New York (April 17, 2013, 4:00 PM EDT) -- A Saudi Arabian joint venture has closed a precedent-setting deal to finance its 549 million dirham ($150 million) thermal energy plant by anchoring the deal in concession agreements with hotels, retail and other businesses in a new mixed-use development, according to a Wednesday statement.

Jabal Omar Development Co. and National Central Cooling Co. PJSC  have inked a 25-year concession agreement to have their venture, Central District Cooling Co., develop and operate a major thermal energy plant for cooling Jabal Omar's hotel-heavy, $5 billion mixed-use district....
