Ex-Connaught Workers Win Cert. In WARN Class Action

Law360, New York (April 17, 2013, 3:56 PM EDT) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Wednesday certified a class of former employees of high-end fashion retailer Connaught Group Ltd. who claim they were not given adequate notice before they lost their jobs when the company entered bankruptcy last year.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Stuart M. Bernstein said in a written decision that while the class members may be treated differently under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code because of the timing of their terminations, that distinction makes no difference in this case because the company’s Chapter 11 liquidation...
