Agencies Fail To Properly Train Acquisition Workers: Report

Law360, New York (April 17, 2013, 9:50 PM EDT) -- Short staffing and lack of funds have hindered the government's ability to ensure the effectiveness of its efforts to train federal acquisition workers, despite the tens of millions of dollars spent on training each year, the U.S. Government Accountability Office reported Tuesday.

Several agencies told GAO that they need more guidance and money when training acquisition workers. Twenty of 23 agencies said it was difficult to find funds for training, and 19 said they needed more staff to supervise the training, according to the report.  Those...
