Blackstone Puts Up $450M For Hawaii Hyatt Hotel

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 1:30 PM EDT) -- On the heels of a strong first quarter, the Blackstone Group LP has agreed to buy the leasehold interests on a Hyatt-branded Hawaii hotel for $450 million from a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. fund, a source close to the deal confirmed to Law360 on Thursday.

The leasehold of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa was purchased from Goldman's Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds — which took over the property in partnership with Hyatt Hotels Corp. in 2008.
