Calif. Panel Advances Bill To Curb Dangerous-Chemical Suits

Law360, San Diego (April 19, 2013, 10:38 PM EDT) -- A California State Assembly panel on Tuesday approved a measure that seeks to give businesses two weeks to fix safety violations and avoid litigation under Proposition 65, the state's list of dangerous chemicals.

In a 7-0 vote, the state Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee cleared A.B. 227, which allows for businesses that receive a notice alleging they are in violation of Proposition 65 to address the violation within 14 days.
