Creditor Daimler Dogs Northwest For $48M

Law360 (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Though Northwest Airlines emerged from Chapter 11 protection in May, the carrier continues to battle certain creditors, most recently DaimlerChrysler Credit Services, which is seeking payment of a $48 million claim.

In court documents filed on Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Daimler assailed Northwest's attempts to block the $48,479,464 claim, which stems from a tax indemnity agreement reached between the two companies in 1999.
