Morgans' Lawyers Must Yield To Director's Discovery Demands

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 9:18 PM EDT) -- Four law firms representing Morgans Hotel Group Co. must give a dissident director information on a recapitalization by Yucaipa Cos. LLC, a judge ruled Wednesday — the latest volley in an intra-board spat that has spilled over into Delaware court, fueled by an ugly proxy fight.

Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster granted director Jason Taubman Kalisman's motion, ruling that Morgans' directors, whom he is suing, cannot invoke attorney-client privilege or work product doctrine to thwart his discovery efforts.
