$4M Caremark Deal Not Tied To Fee Row, Whistleblower Says

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Whistleblower Janaki Ramadoss on Thursday told a Texas federal judge that her bid for attorneys’ fees from Caremark Rx Inc. should proceed, rebuffing Caremark’s claim that its $4.25 million settlement of a False Claims Act suit alleging it defrauded government insurance programs is dependent upon the fee issue being resolved.

Ramadoss said it's unclear if Caremark is trying to scuttle the settlement or drive down her fee request, but either way, running the clock and claiming that the deal is contingent on an agreement regarding attorneys’...
