Texas Counties Protest Delphi Chapter 11 Plan

Law360, New York (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A group of Texas counties has cried foul over Delphi Corp.'s proposed reorganization plan, arguing that the bankrupt auto supplier is attempting to wiggle out of its current tax obligations.

On Monday, Bexar County, Angelina County and a host of other Texas taxing jurisdictions filed their objection to the reorganization plan in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking payment for taxes that will go delinquent after Jan. 31, 2008, amid other claims.
