Judge Endorses Holocaust Settlement Amid Concerns

Law360, New York (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Manhattan district judge has once again given the green light to a class action settlement between Holocaust survivors and their families against Assicurazioni Generali SpA, ignoring an appellate court's fears that potential class members have not been sufficiently notified of the deal with the Italian insurer.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels ruled that appropriate announcement of the settlement had been given, noting that upward of 50,000 notices had been issued to the possible class members.
