Disney, Sony Sued Over Sampling In 'Step Up' Soundtrack

Law360, New York (April 24, 2013, 5:28 PM EDT) -- Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Inc. and Sony Music Entertainment Inc. on Monday were among the latest companies sued in California for copyright infringement over unauthorized sampling of a 1974 recording in several songs, including the title track of the 2006 dance film “Step Up.”
