Trademark Suit Over Artemis Records Goes Forward

Law360 (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A multimillion dollar trademark suit over the use of company name Artemis Records has received approval from a federal court to proceed against Sheridan Square Entertainment.

Denying a bid to toss the $10 million suit, Judge Shira A. Scheindlin ruled on Tuesday that although the plaintiff took eight years to file a complaint after discovering Sheridan’s use of the company name, he had been “actively engaged” in adversarial proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
