UK Passes Legislation Overhauling Antitrust Regime

Law360, New York (April 25, 2013, 7:14 PM EDT) -- British legislation overhauling the U.K.'s antitrust enforcement regime passed into law Thursday, paving the way for reforms including a new competition agency, broader powers for the country's antitrust court and changes to criminal cartel rules.

The two houses of the British Parliament reconciled their differences over the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill on Wednesday and the measure received royal assent Thursday, formally turning the proposal into law.
