Sens. Urge DOD To Cut Duplicative Spending

Law360, New York (April 29, 2013, 8:52 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Tom Coburn, R-Okla., pressed Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to cut wasteful spending on military programs Monday, citing a recent report that found $95 billion in annual spending on overlapping programs across the federal government.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office released a report on “fragmentation, overlap and duplication,” across the government, including at the Department of Defense, on April 9.
