'Survivor' Adviser Can't DQ Atty In $14M Contract Feud

Law360, Los Angeles (April 30, 2013, 6:31 PM EDT) -- A California judge refused Tuesday to disqualify a lawyer representing another attorney who claims an adviser to “Survivor” creator Mark Burnett bilked him out of $14 million from the show's revenues, ruling that the conflict of interest allegations were too vague to merit disqualification.

At a hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mary Ann Murphy said she couldn't make heads or tails of Conrad Riggs' motion to qualify John J. Shaeffer of Lathrop & Gage LLP, the lawyer representing his opponent Layne Leslie Britton.
