Alioto on Wednesday accused a Florida lawyer of extortion in his handling of an objection to The Alioto Law Firm's $47 million award in multidistrict antitrust litigation in the wake of a $28 million claim from the firm's lender.

Alioto asked the California federal judge overseeing the MDL over liquid crystal display panels to award him $8,750 in attorneys fees and order objector Keena Dale and his Florida-based attorney N. Albert Bacharach Jr. to pay $10,000 each into the state bar's client...
