Struggling Movie Rental Business Checks Out Of Chapter 11

Law360, New York (May 2, 2013, 6:20 PM EDT) -- Public Media Works Inc., an entertainment production company turned movie rental kiosk business once associated with "L.A. Law" actor Corbin Bernsen, on Wednesday converted its Chapter 11 bankruptcy to a Chapter 7 in California federal court after years of struggling to stay afloat.

In a document hearing, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Meredith Jury approved the conversion, after the company failed to achieve its stated goals of establishing a long-term capital structure for the business and quickly emerging from Chapter 11. Further details were not disclosed.
