Facebook, Mitel Patent Fight Transferred To Calif.

Law360, Los Angeles (May 3, 2013, 9:40 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal judge on Wednesday granted Facebook Inc.’s request to transfer a lawsuit, brought by communications technology company Mitel Networks Corp. over alleged infringement of two phone- and Internet-related patents, to the Northern District of California.

Canada-based Mitel brought suit against Facebook in March 2012, saying the social network’s online services utilize its patented technologies for automatically generating websites and for connecting users through their computer networks, and that the site also empowers its users to do the same.
