SBA Opens Door To Larger Contract Set-Asides For Women

Law360, New York (May 7, 2013, 9:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Small Business Administration on Tuesday issued an interim final rule that removes the statutory cap on the size of contracts that agencies can set aside for women-owned small businesses, opening the door to set-asides of any dollar value.

The rule change implements a provision in the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, which lifted a restriction that kept women-owned businesses out of the running for large set-aside contracts.
