Hyperlocal Online News Co. Enters Ch. 11 In NY

Law360, New York (May 8, 2013, 2:34 PM EDT) -- Community journalism, already in decline as local newspapers struggle to stay afloat, took another hit Tuesday as an Armonk, N.Y.-based online hyperlocal news company entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy, saying it will likely be forced to sell off its assets.

Main Street Connect LLC, which does business as The Daily Voice, offers community-based journalism online primarily to towns in Westchester County, N.Y., and Fairfield County, Conn., according to court filings. The company was launched in 2010, according to its website.
