Heller Ehrman Settles Legal-Fee Fight With Ex-Refco Exec

Law360, New York (May 9, 2013, 6:49 PM EDT) -- A California bankruptcy court on Thursday allowed bankrupt law firm Heller Ehrman LLP’s to settle a dispute over legal fees with a former Refco Inc. executive that stemmed in part from a securities class action against the failed brokerage.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Dennis Montali signed off on a settlement in which former Refco Secretary Philip Silverman would pay $30,000 to resolve a dispute with Heller over legal fees. The bankrupt law firm claimed that Silverman owed the firm a little more than $100,000 in legal fees...
