NJ Gov. Vetoes Bill To Relax Racing Agency Job Limits

Law360, New York (May 10, 2013, 5:17 PM EDT) -- New Jersey Gov. Christie has conditionally vetoed a measure that would have loosened restrictions on when former employees and members of the state's Racing Commission can hold new jobs or interests with license holders in the horse racing industry.

The need for the proposed relaxation of a two-year ban before former Racing Commission employees can take such positions doesn't outweigh the importance of maintaining high standards for the industry, the governor said in a three-page veto message.
