Arab Bank Beats Conspiracy Claims In Hamas Funding Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (May 10, 2013, 6:57 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday tossed civil conspiracy claims against Arab Bank PLC over its alleged role in funding Hamas and other Palestinian groups' terrorist acts, ruling that a recent Second Circuit ruling meant the Anti-Terrorism Act doesn't apply to the claims.

A group of non-U.S. citizens alleged that the bank was liable under the ATA for its involvement in bank accounts through which two purported charitable organizations raised funds to aid in the proliferation of the objectives of terrorist organizations.
