NY Fraud Threat Could Prompt Action On Smartphone Theft

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 7:54 PM EDT) -- New York's attorney general suggested Monday he could use a consumer fraud statute to hold Apple Inc. and other smartphone markers liable for promises they make about the security of the oft-stolen devices, a move legal experts say could force changes in the industry despite the difficulty of proving such a theory.
