Level Global Founder Gets 6 1/2 Years For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 2:52 PM EDT) -- Anthony Chiasson, a hedge fund founder who made an estimated $68 million on bets in Dell Inc. and Nvidia Corp. as part of a “criminal club” of insider traders, was sentenced Monday to 78 months in prison.

Chiasson, 39, was also ordered to pay a $5 million fine and serve one year of probation. The sentence caps a staggering downfall for the Wall Street luminary, who left in his late twenties a promising career at SAC Capital Advisors LP to found the multibillion-dollar hedge fund Level...
