Lloyd's Wants Out Of LA Firm's Malpractice Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (May 14, 2013, 6:38 PM EDT) -- Lloyd's of London underwriters on Monday pushed for a quick victory in a fight with a Los Angeles law firm over defense coverage for malpractice claims stemming from a $7 million award against an alleged ex-client in a property dispute.

In a summary judgment motion, Lloyd's told a California federal court that coverage was barred because its policy had an exclusion for claims that Blum Collins LLP and attorney Craig Collins knew about or reasonably could have expected before the policy took effect.
