2nd Circ. Affirms Cut-Rate Atty Fees In Gerson Settlement

Law360, New York (May 14, 2013, 4:02 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Tuesday refused to overturn a judgment scaling back the attorneys' fees and axing the enhancement payments from a class action settlement between consulting firm Gerson Lehrman Group Inc. and its research associates.

The appeals court affirmed a decision by District Judge P. Kevin Castel to shrink the $575,000 in attorneys' fees, which the parties had agreed to in their November 2011 settlement of the class action alleging the company misclassified its research associates as overtime exempt, to just $97,487.
