Navy Owes Costs Of Maintenance Contract Protest, GAO Says

Law360, New York (May 14, 2013, 6:59 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has granted part of Italian contractor JV Derichebourg-BMAR & Associates LLC’s request for costs related to its protest of the U.S. Department of the Navy’s award of a maintenance contract to a rival, in light of the Navy's evaluation error.

According to a GAO decision released Tuesday, the agency recommended that the Navy reimburse Naples, Italy-based Derichebourg-BMAR for the costs of its challenges to the Navy’s reasonableness evaluation of competitor NewStar Srl’s contract proposal as well as its own.
