Mass Tort For Tylenol Liver Injuries Requested In NJ

By Martin Bricketto (May 15, 2013, 5:43 PM EDT) -- McNeil-PPC Inc. and Johnson & Johnson may have fought the federal consolidation of lawsuits blaming acetaminophen in Tylenol products for severe liver damage, but the companies now want centralized management of similar state court cases in New Jersey, according to a Tuesday court notice.

The April 1 formation of the multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania "changes the landscape and points toward consolidation in New Jersey as the most efficient strategy for all involved as these cases move forward," the companies said in an application to the state Supreme Court for multicounty litigation....
