FTC Wins Restraining Order In $195M Phoebe Merger Fight

Law360, New York (May 15, 2013, 4:35 PM EDT) -- A Georgia federal judge on Wednesday temporarily blocked Phoebe Putney Health System Inc. from further integrating its operations with a nearby rival, a ruling that comes in the Federal Trade Commission's antitrust challenge of the now-consummated $195 million acquisition.

U.S. District Judge W. Louis Sands granted the FTC's request for a temporary restraining order to maintain the status quo until the court can consider whether to grant a preliminary injunction that would further prevent Phoebe Putney from continuing to integrate with Palmyra Park Hospital Inc....
