Aereo, FilmOn Settle Trio Of Trademark Disputes

Law360, Los Angeles (May 20, 2013, 10:41 PM EDT) -- Media mogul Barry Diller and billionaire Alki David have settled three California federal court trademark disputes regarding the websites, hardware and names pertaining to their rival Aereo Inc. and FilmOn television-streaming services, the parties said in a joint statement on Monday.

The settlement news comes while the Ninth Circuit is hearing other lawsuits in which major networks accuse the Internet companies of violating the Copyright Act's transmit clause. The closely watched litigation could dictate the future of TV streaming.
