New Chapter Unfolds In Harry Potter Copyright Case

Law360, New York (January 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The author of the Harry Potter novels and the studio that released the films have continued their pursuit of an injunction against a proposed Potter encyclopedia, filing a motion seeking a preliminary injunction against the alleged knockoff’s publisher.

J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers Entertainment Inc. filed their motion on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, accompanied by lengthy supporting documents, including a statement from the billionaire author herself.
