How They Won It: O'Melveny Debunks Hitachi TV Patent Claims

Law360, New York (May 28, 2013, 6:09 PM EDT) -- To help television maker Top Victory Electronics (Taiwan) Co. Ltd. defeat Hitachi Consumer Electronics Co. Ltd.'s $55 million patent infringement lawsuit, O'Melveny & Myers LLP told jurors that Hitachi turned to litigation only after its own television manufacturing business soured.

On April 12, a Texas jury found that Hitachi failed to prove that digital televisions manufactured by TPV infringed four of its patents, finding two of them invalid.
