DOD Plan To Mix Fines, Debarment Could Pose Conflict

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 8:27 PM EDT) -- The Department of Defense recently asked Congress to allow suspension and debarment officials to pursue small contract fraud claims, but some contractors worry that mixing enforcement with debarment could cause officials to improperly use the threat of debarment to get contractors to pay up.
