Bankrupt Traffic Co. Shed Workers Without Notice, Suit Says

Law360, Wilmington (May 30, 2013, 8:47 PM EDT) -- Two laid-off employees of bankrupt Highway Technologies Inc. launched a putative class action against the company Thursday, alleging they weren't given proper notice when the Houston-based traffic safety firm terminated about 90 percent of its workforce before filing for Chapter 11 protection.

Jason McClain and Thomas Wachsman filed the lawsuit as an adversary case in Highway Technologies' Chapter 11 proceedings in Delaware Bankruptcy Court, arguing that they and the rest of the 740 terminated employees didn't get the 60-day warning mandated by the U.S. Worker Adjustment...
