Exotic Dancer Hits Club With Suit Over Wage Violations

Law360, Philadelphia (June 3, 2013, 4:31 PM EDT) -- An exotic dancer filed a putative class action against the Penthouse Club Philadelphia on Friday in Pennsylvania federal court, alleging that the club has withheld gratuities and back pay and forced its dancers to pay certain amounts to club owners and other employees.

In the suit, lead plaintiff Priya Verma contends that the club unlawfully categorized her and hundreds of other dancers as independent contractors and claims that the putative class is owed over $5 million.
